How To Get Work On Behance

In this episode, we check in with brand strategist Melinda Livsey to see how her business is growing, and how she uses a portfolio site like Behance to display her work and attract new business. Over the course of just two and a half weeks, Melinda updated her Behance profile and received five new inquiries from clients interested in learning more about her work. Whoa. Seems like this Behance thing works!

So what do you need to do to reel in more leads through a site like Behance? Melinda reveals she spent quite some time—three whole days—to update her profile and land one new project. Now this might not seem like the effort was worth it, but it really was. To invest three days of work to improve your online portfolio, and land a client after just those three days, is an incredible return. Sometimes making one simple change (like updating your Behance profile) can have a domino effect in other areas of your business.

When you put the time and effort into your own self, the reward can be greater than you imagine.

Now, updating your portfolio isn’t an action that magically makes clients appear. You’ll still have to have sales conversations, do a little internal marketing, practice negotiating, and much more. Don’t forget you’re on a constant journey of growth and improvement. Keep learning and finding new ways to give your work that extra umph.

So what else is new with Melinda? She shares why she’s started asking more “why” questions, and why caring less gives you the upper hand in negotiating. Tune in to the episode for more.
